Role Summary
Working closely with the Head of Development Cooperation, the wider Development Cooperation (DC) team, and other Divisional teams, the Development Cooperation Officer (DCO) will support the growth of AGRA's funding partnerships by building a strong donor stewardship culture and a healthy funding pipeline. This will resource AGRA's new five-year strategic plan for East and Southern Africa.
The DCO will lead and coordinate the identification of resource mobilization opportunities to support the delivery of regional and country strategies. This includes capturing donor intelligence, developing and presenting proposals to potential donors and partners, and supporting teams on donor stewardship and compliance during implementation to maximize the delivery of strategic partnerships and shared mission.
Location and Scope
The role is based in Accra, Ghana, with responsibility for supporting AGRA's West African countries including Ghana, Burkina Faso, Mali, and Nigeria. The role will also provide support to other AGRA focus regions and countries as needed and requested by the Head of Development Cooperation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the resource mobilization strategy for West Africa and support the implementation of the institution's resource mobilization strategy and goals
- Proactively identify and pursue strategic funding partnerships at country and regional levels to cultivate new business development and meet institutional fundraising targets
- Lead and coordinate bid development to achieve successful conversion rates and secure sufficient, predictable, and sustainable donor funding
- Ensure adequate cost recovery is built into strategies toward a path of financial sustainability
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of all donor contract compliance requirements for West Africa in close coordination with the DC HQ team
- Support the DC HQ team on donor stewardship and compliance matters
