Job Description
Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital is seeking to recruit a Deputy Director, Supply Chain Management.
Job Purpose
- Provide direction and advice in the timely procurement, storage and distribution of drug, equipment, other medical consumables, civil works, etc for KATH
- Lead in the planning, procurement and distribution of drugs, equipment and medical supplies
- Lead in the procurement of civil works and services in accordance with the provisions of the public procurement act, 2003 (Act 663) as amended
- Ensure the procurement of items using GHANEPS
- Ensure the safe custody of drugs, equipment and medical supplies
- Lead in the development and maintenance of effective distribution systems for the hospital
- Contribute to policy development, analysis and review for KATH
- Lead in the development of systems for monitoring and evaluation of supply chain management practices across the hospital
- Facilitate the development and maintenance of a central database on all supplies and distributions
- To promote the sustenance, timely and effective application of GIFMIS and GhiLMIS in the supply chain operations of the hospital
- Contribute to the implementation and evaluation of national health policies
- Contribute to the development of medium/long term plans of KATH
- Prepare annual reports and other reports on procurement and stores required by the management
- Provide direction and guidelines in the disposal of obsolete/expired equipment and other commodities
- At least postgraduate qualification in procurement and supply chain management or related field (masters or equivalent)
- Member of relevant and recognized professional body (in good standing)
- A minimum of 10 years working experience with at least 5 years at senior management level
- A broad knowledge base and experience in health sector procurement and supply chain management
- A broad knowledge of the public procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663) as amended
- Evidence of leadership and continuing professional development and training in supply chain management
