About Our Africa Operations
Newmont's Africa Operations manages two gold mining operations in Ghana: the Ahafo Mine located in the Brong-Ahafo region and the Akyem Mine located in the Eastern region. We also maintain near-mine exploration and development initiatives in Ghana to annually replace gold reserves, along with early-stage exploration programs in Ethiopia and Morocco.
Our Africa operations employ approximately 5,900 employees and contractors, with the majority working at the Ahafo Mine. We maintain high standards in environmental management, health and safety, and create value and opportunity for our employees, host communities, and shareholders.
Community Development
Our Akyem and Ahafo mines have made significant sustainable community development investments in host communities. Each mine contributes US$1 per ounce of gold sold and 1% of net pre-tax annual profit into community development funds.
About This Role
The Control Systems Technical Supervisor II is a member of the global Fixed Plant Control (FPC) systems team and is accountable for system availability and performance.
