Position Overview
The College Governing Council, in consultation with Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and the College's affiliate University, the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), invites applications from interested and qualified persons for the position of College Secretary.
Key Responsibilities
The College Secretary is the Chief Administrative Officer of the College and is answerable to the Principal of the College. As Secretary to the College Council, the College Secretary ensures the proper functioning of all boards and standing committees. The Office of the College Secretary is in charge of:
- Human resource management
- Custody and maintenance of the college's property inventory
- Custody of staff and student records
- Administration and organization of admissions
- Organization of examinations and publication of results
- Organization of all official ceremonies including matriculation, congregation, and convocation
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Postgraduate degree, preferably in Administration, Management, or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience serving as a Deputy Secretary or comparable grade in a College of Education or analogous institution
Tenure of Office
The College Secretary shall hold office for a term of 4 years and may, upon application, be eligible for re-appointment for another term of 4 years only, provided that no part of the second term enters the compulsory retirement age.
