## Title: College Internal Auditor
About the Organization
St. Ambrose College of Education, located in Dormaa Akwamu in the Bono Region, is a Public College of Education affiliated to the University of Cape Coast.
Position Overview
The Internal Auditor serves as the head of the college's internal audit unit and is responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective internal financial control system.
Key Responsibilities
- Vet all proposed expenditures to ensure compliance with laid-down internal control systems and statutory requirements
- Assess the extent to which assets are accounted for and safeguard against losses
- Monitor and ensure that expenditures incurred have been authorized and are within budgetary provisions
- Liaise with external auditors to ensure that appropriate actions are taken on reported audit findings
- Draw the attention of the Principal and Finance Officer to deficiencies in the system with recommendations for remedies
- Discharge other assignments as deemed necessary by the Principal
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Professional qualification in a relevant field and membership in a relevant professional body
- Membership in the Institute of Internal Auditors
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Deputy Internal Auditor in a College of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution or organization
