About the Role

The National Biosafety Authority seeks to recruit a highly accomplished professional to provide strategic leadership, technical and administrative direction for the achievement of the authority's mandate.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate action for the formulation of policies
• Ensure the implementation, monitoring, evaluation and enforcement of programmes and activities of the authority
• Exercise oversight responsibility for the efficient and effective management of human, material and financial resources
• Represent the authority on related international bodies and agencies
• Ensure the development of the strategic plan of the authority
• Initiate actions involving grievances and complaints to the appeals tribunal
• Ensure the availability of appropriate internal structures, controls, management and decision-making systems and processes
• Establish administrative mechanisms for the appropriate handling and storage of documents and data in connection with the processing of applications
• Make determinations on declaration of confidential business information
• Initiate action for the mobilisation of funds from development partners and other stakeholders
• Act as the national focal point responsible for liaising with other agencies and international organisations
• Ensure the preparation of annual and other periodic reports
• Build and manage an effective, dedicated, and inclusive work environment
• Collaborate and build relationships with Government, Public and Private sector partners and other stakeholders at national and international levels
