About the Organization
The Centre for Biodiversity Conservation Research (CBCR), in partnership with the Wechiau Community Hippo Sanctuary (WCHS) and the Wilder Institute of the Calgary Zoo Foundation, seeks a Project Manager to facilitate capacity building, development, and conservation efforts in the Wechiau Community Hippo Sanctuary and neighbouring communities to ensure the sustained success of community conservation initiatives.
Position Overview
The Project Manager will provide management, technical, and strategic direction for the project, including designing, developing, implementing, and supervising project activities.
Job Location
- Wechiau Community Hippo Sanctuary office in Wechiau, Upper West Region (80%)
- Centre for Biodiversity Conservation Research office at University of Ghana, Accra (20%)
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Management, Conservation, Biology, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of professional working experience, with at least 3 years in a management position
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Demonstrated success in project proposal development
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills in oral and written English
- Ability and willingness to travel locally on a daily basis
- Strong team player with collaborative approach
