Position Overview

The Business Development Officer will lead the development and negotiation of high-quality project proposals for funding, maintain and develop donor and partner relations, and monitor funding agreements and compliance. This role will leverage technical knowledge and expertise to set strategic direction and innovation across all dimensions of the business development cycle within Caritas Ghana's thematic areas.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of overall business strategy and lead the search for funding opportunities
• Create high-quality proposals for institutional donors including government, inter-governmental organizations, foundations, corporations, and non-governmental organizations
• Develop donor profiles and monitor donor priorities to inform solicitation strategies
• Maintain effective donor relations to ensure continued funding and organizational sustainability
• Lead the development of resource mobilization agreements, proposals, presentations, and briefing notes
• Represent the organization in donor meetings, workshops, and relevant engagements
• Provide business development expertise in positioning, capture planning, and proposal preparation for specific opportunities with institutional donors
• Coordinate proposal development processes to ensure timely submission of high-quality proposals that meet donor requirements and applicable regulations
• Lead and support proposal budget processes and provide recommendations to develop competitive proposals
• Serve as proposal coordinator or lead role in proposal teams
• Participate in bid analysis and proposal evaluation
