About the Role

The Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Biomedical Engineer. This full-time role requires operational support for the achievement of the Institute's objectives.

We are looking for an innovative biomedical engineer with the skills to develop pioneering biomedical technology to support the work of the Institute. You will work closely with professionals such as life scientists, chemists, and medical scientists to research the engineering aspects of biological systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and calibrate biomedical machines, equipment, and related software
• Design and create biomedical technology such as artificial internal organs and body parts, machines, equipment, and software for diagnosing and treating medical problems
• Evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical machines, equipment, and software
• Develop technological solutions to complex medical problems
• Advise professionals on effective use of developed technology
• Support mechanical and electrical engineers to service and maintain essential equipment used at the Institute
