About the Organization
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and the Centre for Gender Studies and Advocacy (CEGENSA) have established a collaborative project on the Africa-based Gender Technical Platform for Gender Responsive Malaria Advocacy and Policy.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work with project coordinators to document and analyze the project setup process and generate key evidence and learning insights at the Gender-Malaria intersection. You will support the project team in conducting gender analyses of national malaria strategic plans and reviews of selected malaria-endemic countries.
Primary Responsibilities
- Document and analyze the entire project setup process
- Generate evidence and learning insights at the Gender-Malaria intersection
- Conduct gender analyses of national malaria strategic plans
- Review malaria programming and policy in selected malaria-endemic countries
- Manage the Global Malaria and Gender Community of Practice
- Support capacity strengthening of gender experts in gender integration and malaria
- Interact closely with project coordinators on gender-transformative approaches in malaria advocacy and policy
- Contribute to publication outcomes that identify and integrate gender-transformative approaches into malaria frameworks
Required Qualifications
- PhD awarded within the last five years in a gender and/or health-related field of study
- Demonstrated ability to produce peer-reviewed research articles in high-ranking journals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work well in an interdisciplinary research team
Preferred Experience
- Previous work on malaria
