Audit Officer at Reputable Financial Institution

Role Purpose

To provide direct support for the Audit Manager in undertaking risk-based auditing to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, accounting, internal control and governance processes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Audit Manager in implementing a strong system of internal controls and procedures to ensure that major risks are identified and analysed
• Check and verify the accuracy and integrity of accounting ledgers
• Ensure audit compliance to regulatory standards and best practices
• Analyse and evaluate the accuracy of accounting systems and procedures
• Prepare audit working papers in accordance with standards and requirements
• Perform routine audits across all activities of the institution and generate audit reports with recommendations

Qualifications Required

• BSc in Accounting, BSc in Finance, or professional qualification (ICAG, ACCA, CIMA, BA, CIA) Part 2
• Minimum of 3 years of working experience in a similar environment

Skills and Experience Required

• Excellent knowledge of accounting and auditing principles
• Good knowledge of company law and taxation
• Proficiency with computer programmes such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Exceptional loyalty and commitment
