About the African Development Bank
Established in 1964, the African Development Bank is the premier pan-African development institution, promoting economic growth and social progress across the continent. With 81 member states, including 54 Regional Member Countries in Africa, the Bank provides financial and technical support for transformative projects that significantly reduce poverty through inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
The Bank's Ten Year Strategy (2023–2032) focuses on five major areas to accelerate development across Africa:

The Vice Presidency for Finance
The Vice Presidency for Finance oversees all financial management of the Bank Group, including:
- Treasury activities, including capital market borrowings and investment activities
- Controllership functions, including financial reporting and loan administration
- Strategic resource mobilization and strengthening of non-statutory financial resources and instruments
- Overall asset and liability management for the Bank Group
The Financial Control Department
The Financial Control Department is responsible for:
- Accounting for the financial consequences of the Bank Group's transactions and decisions
- Preparation, fair presentation, and overall integrity of internal financial reports and published financial statements
- Loan administration, accounting, and related fiduciary responsibilities
- Disbursement of funds to projects and programs financed by the Bank Group
- Decision support and expertise in the development of financial policies and procedures
