The EU is represented through more than 140 diplomatic representations, known as EU Delegations, which have a similar function to those of an embassy. The EU Delegation to Ghana's mission is "Building a strong partnership with Ghana to promote Peace and Prosperity for People and Protecting the Planet".

Position Overview

We are seeking an Accounts Clerk to join the Administration Section. The jobholder will provide general accounting and administrative support to the section and will replace the Accountant during periods of absence. Functions will be attributed based on the needs of the Delegation.

Delegation of the European Union to Ghana, The Round House, 81 Cantonments Road, Accra, Ghana

Key Responsibilities

• Provide general accounting support to the Administration Section
• Perform accounting and administrative tasks as needed by the Delegation
• Cover accounting duties during the Accountant's absence

Required Qualifications

• Minimum HND (Higher National Diploma) in Accountancy or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a similar field

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in accounting tasks
• Previous work experience in an international organization

Required Skills and Competencies

• Accurate, organized, and detail-oriented
• Strong planning and time management skills
• Fast learner who is responsible and responsive
• Ability to meet short deadlines
• Fluent in English (oral and written, C2 Level) plus at least one local language
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficiency in spreadsheet and database applications
