About the Organization
Ethiopian Women Lawyers Association (EWLA) is headquartered in Addis Ababa with regional offices in eight locations: Adama, Hawassa, Bahir Dar, Gambella, Assosa, Jigjiga, Semera, and Dire Dawa. The organization has established 57 volunteer committee centers across the country and operates a hotline service (7711) in three local languages: Amharic, Afan Oromo, and Tigrigna.
Project Overview
EWLA is implementing the project "Enhanced Awareness of Targeted Vulnerable Women Regarding Their Rights and the Legal Process and Increased Access to Proper Legal Assistance and Representation for Targeted Groups" with financial support from UNODC, running from February 2025 to May 2026.
The project aims to enhance equitable access to justice and raise awareness within criminal justice systems across:
- Addis Ababa City Administration
- Dire Dawa City Administration
- Benishangul Regional State
- Amhara Regional State
Consultancy Scope
This consultancy requires provision of psycho-social support and trauma healing training for IDP (Internally Displaced Person) camps in Amhara and Benishangul Gumuz regions.
Objectives
The training will:
- Create a network of informed community members capable of supporting one another in overcoming trauma
- Enhance individual resilience among displaced populations
- Foster community solidarity and mutual support
- Contribute to the overall well-being of displaced populations
- Empower marginalized groups, including the poor, women, and other vulnerable populations
