Senior Accountant - Reality Share Company, Addis-Abeba

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations, including verification of posting and coding, ledger analysis, reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of financial reports. The successful candidate will ensure accuracy in all accounting processes and support internal and external audit activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and verify posting and coding performed by general accountants
• Examine journal entries for accuracy and compliance
• Code and post accounts as necessary
• Analyze ledger balances to identify abnormal or unusual account entries
• Reconcile and post journal entries as required
• Reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Reconcile bank accounts
• Compile data for year-end adjustments
• Reconcile stock values, goods in transit, and VAT with management accounting division
• Verify that system backups are completed weekly
• Review payroll deduction data to ensure proper organization and accuracy
• Monitor timely and accurate preparation of monthly payrolls
• Prepare monthly activity reports and analyze aging of debtors and creditors
• Provide explanations and assistance during internal and external audits
