About the Project

The PACT Improved Cookstove Project aims to provide improved cookstoves to 45,600 households across 25 woredas located in South Ethiopia, SW Ethiopia, Oromia, Amhara, Central Ethiopia, and Sidama Regional States. The project will use Vita's Community-Led Total Stoves approach to eliminate the use of traditional three-stone stoves in the project's kebeles.

The project is part of the Participatory Agriculture for Climate Transformation (PACT) Program, which is managed by the FDRE Ministry of Agriculture and funded by UN-IFAD.

This project will build upon Vita's extensive experience in improved cookstove programming. Related ICS projects include:

• Gamo Cookstoves, South Ethiopia: 218,000 cookstoves
• Alelitu Cookstoves, Oromia: 3,000 cookstoves initially, with 31,482 stoves in subsequent phases

Position Details

• Reports to: Head of VGIF Programme
• Employment Terms: One-year contract with possibility of extension based on performance
• Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of project management—including planning, implementation, and progress monitoring—to ensure successful delivery against agreed project goals and objectives
• Ensure the project is implemented within the agreed budget and that all financial management aligns with Vita's policies and procedures
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor project implementation, identify challenges, and take appropriate action to address issues
• Coordinate with colleagues in the VGIF team to facilitate information sharing, best practices, and lessons learned
• Ensure the project is managed and implemented according to Vita's policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate project documentation and submit reports internally and externally within agreed timeframes
• Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and partners to keep relevant parties informed of project progress and developments
