About the Organization
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is undergoing a global reorganization in preparation for the S4GIZ-System. Starting January 1, 2026, project administration will be managed through dedicated Service Units in collaboration with country offices.
In Ethiopia, three Service Units have been established, one for each Cluster. The Climate Change Cluster Service Unit (CCC-SU) is one of these newly created units, designed to efficiently support 15 projects within the Cluster. The CCC-SU will also manage Service Units in Regional Offices located in Hawassa, Jigjiga, Bahir Dar, Arba Minch, Jinka, and Gambella.
Position Overview
The CCC-SU is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Procurement and Contract Specialist, based in Addis Ababa.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage all job orders within your area of responsibility and serve as the primary point of contact for advising managers and staff on procurement and contract matters
- Provide specialist technical support to colleagues in bands 2 and 3, ensuring quality and consistency of outputs within the unit
- Clearly communicate applicable requirements, conditions, limitations, and restrictions related to your mandate and decision-making authority
- Coordinate the contract award process and carry out related tasks in compliance with applicable legal, contractual, socio-political, and corporate policy requirements
- Monitor the implementation and fulfillment of contracts
- Contribute to the further development of tools and instruments, ensuring that innovations, updates, and changes are appropriately integrated
- Address matters within your area of responsibility promptly and professionally, resolving routine issues in line with existing rules and escalating complex challenges to the team as appropriate
- Actively contribute to ongoing process improvements within your remit
