Position Details
- Duty Station: Addis Ababa (with frequent field travel)
- Contract Type: Project-based
- Duration: Four (4) years, renewable based on performance
- Reports to: Executive Director
Position Summary
The MEL Officer will lead the design, implementation, and management of monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems across NABU Ethiopia's projects. The role ensures high-quality data collection, analysis, reporting, and learning processes to support evidence-based decision-making and compliance with donor and Ethiopian Authority for Civil Society Organization requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operationalize comprehensive MEL frameworks, systems, tools, and procedures aligned with organizational strategies and donor requirements
- Develop and track SMART indicators at output, outcome, and impact levels, ensuring alignment with approved log frames and results frameworks
- Monitor project performance against established indicators, log frames, and donor compliance requirements
- Lead and oversee data collection, verification, validation, analysis, and interpretation to ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness of information
- Support project planning processes, including baseline assessments, target setting, periodic reviews, midline and end-line evaluations
- Manage project databases and information systems, ensuring proper documentation of best practices, lessons learned, and success stories
- Establish and manage beneficiary accountability, feedback, and complaints response mechanisms to enhance transparency and responsiveness
- Facilitate learning processes across projects to inform adaptive management and organizational learning
