IT Officer - African Parks Network Ethiopia, Addis-Abeba

Position Overview

Under the direct supervision of the IT Manager, the IT Officer will be responsible for all email communication systems and IT support for the Head Office in Addis-Ababa, with provision of basic support to Gambella Parks. This role encompasses maintaining Office 365 Tenant, Azure, and ESET Antivirus Tenants, as well as providing comprehensive IT infrastructure and end-user support.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure all IT and communication equipment remains fully operational, including backbone network monitoring, Wi-Fi access points, site routers, and wired network infrastructure
• Perform end-user device and equipment setup, maintenance, and management
• Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners
• Resolve computer problems and attend to all computer breakdown and repair maintenance calls
• Monitor computer-processing systems and test the performance of computer equipment and programs
• Perform diagnostic tests and debugging procedures to optimize computer systems
• Maintain and monitor networks, servers, LAN, and printers
• Assist with network administration tasks
• Install, update, and configure end-user networking accessories
• Implement security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats
• Perform on-site troubleshooting and repair of defective or damaged hardware
• Provide basic user account management and training on technology standard operating procedures and policies during staff inductions and awareness refresher sessions
• Offer recommendations for possible equipment upgrades and changes

Work Environment

The IT Officer will work closely with colleagues involved in technology initiatives and report directly to the IT Manager.
