About the Role
The Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is seeking an HR Assistant to support the Talent Acquisition and HR Services function. This role focuses on day-to-day operations including recruitment, onboarding, learning, and development activities.
Purpose of the Job
To provide comprehensive support to the Talent Acquisition and HR Services team in managing recruitment processes, employee records, and human resources operations for the Head Office.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain employee personnel files and relevant documentation for Head Office
- Record new employee data on HRIS and IFMIS systems
- Facilitate procurement needs and request items from store as required
- Explain EHRC's personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to Head Office employees and job applicants
- Review employment applications and evaluate applicant qualifications and eligibility
- Prepare and advertise job vacancies through appropriate channels, including internal postings
- Communicate with job applicants regarding the recruitment process, employment decisions, and required certifications
- Assist in writing and distributing appointment letters, employment contracts, and HR-related correspondence
- Schedule interviews, arrange interview venues, and coordinate examination activities
- Follow up on background and reference checks
- Provide technical support to staff in Head Office and city offices on HRIS usage
- Record and update training and development data on HRIS
- Maintain data quality through periodic HRIS updates
- Gather and analyze employee data related to performance and talent development
- Support the organization and delivery of induction and training programs
- Prepare employee identification cards
- Perform additional tasks as requested by supervisor
