Position Overview
The Horticultural Value Chains Development Expert reports to the Project Team Leader and is responsible for providing technical leadership and hands-on field-level implementation support for horticulture value chain development under the Transforming Horticulture through Responsive and Inclusive Technical and Vocational Education in Ethiopia (THRIVE-HORT Ethiopia) Project.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate project strategies and designs into practical, high-quality interventions at regional, district, and community levels
- Support improvements in horticulture production, productivity, and post-harvest handling
- Lead quality assurance, aggregation, and market access initiatives for farmers and commercial enterprises
- Ensure interventions are technically sound, market-oriented, and climate-smart
- Align activities with the project's Market Systems Development (MSD) approach
- Address systemic bottlenecks in horticultural value chains
