Community Mobilizer – Countering Harmful Practices (Future4Binti Project)

Position Overview

alignAfrica is expanding its team and seeking three Community Mobilizers for the Future4Binti Project. This is a full-time, onsite position based in Dubti, Afambo, and Asayita Woredas, Afar Region. The role is offered on a one-year contract with possible extension.

alignAfrica is a national non-profit organization established in 2009 and re-registered under Proclamation 1113/2019 with the Ethiopian Authority for Civil Society Organizations. The organization addresses critical challenges in health, education, economic empowerment, and protection, while providing emergency responses and advocating for policy reforms.

About the Future4Binti Project

Future4Binti is a regional initiative funded by the Government of the Netherlands and led by Amref Health Africa in partnership with Plan International and local civil society organizations across Ethiopia, Kenya, and Somalia. The program aims to eliminate harmful practices, including FGM/C and child, early, and forced marriage (CEFM/U), and to advance gender equality for girls and young women.

alignAfrica implements this project in Dubti, Asayita, and Afambo woredas of Afar Region, focusing on community-level transformation, social norms change, and inclusive engagement.

Role Purpose

The Community Mobilizer will lead grassroots engagement and community facilitation activities to advance the project's objectives.
