About Ethiopian Securities Exchange s.c. (ESX)

ESX is Ethiopia's first and only organized securities exchange, established as a public-private partnership in accordance with Article 31 of the Capital Market Proclamation (No.1248/2021). ESX operates as a securities exchange, functions as a Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO), and serves as the central market organizer.

The organization provides an integrated product suite covering equities, fixed income, and money market segments of the capital markets. As the pioneer securities exchange, ESX plays a critical role in developing and growing the Ethiopian capital markets. The core objective is to facilitate access to capital and support effective capital allocation in a manner that supports Ethiopia's economic growth. By developing a well-regulated and efficient capital market ecosystem, ESX enables mobilization of financial resources for both public and private sector institutions while providing investors a reliable platform to invest.

Role Summary

This role supports risk management at ESX by contributing to the development and implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework in line with international standards. The position is responsible for providing technical guidance to departments on risk identification and mitigation, analyzing loss incidents, delivering risk management training, and supporting planning and budgeting activities for the Risk function.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Participate in the development and revision of ESX's ERM Framework based on internationally accepted standards and practices
• Develop risk management and related procedures
• Prepare annual and ad hoc risk assessments and regular monitoring reports by reviewing risk mitigation activities and limits
• Provide technical support to first-line risk teams and departments in the preparation of risk registers for their respective departments
• Perform additional duties as required
