Inventory Controller

Position Overview

The Inventory Controller is responsible for overseeing and ensuring accuracy of inventory records, accurately counting, recording, and supporting efficient warehouse operations. The role ensures that physical inventory matches system records and helps prevent stock discrepancies, losses, and operational inefficiencies.

Department: HR & Asset Management

Reports To: HR & Asset Management Director

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular physical stock counts (cycle counts and periodic full inventory audits) and reconcile with system records
• Investigate, report, reconcile, and resolve inventory discrepancies between physical count and system records (shortages, overages, damages)
• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using manual and/or computerized systems
• Track stock movements including receipts, issues, transfers, and returns
• Work closely with warehouse, finance, and sales teams to maintain accurate stock
• Maintain accurate documentation of stock counts, reports, and related tasks
• Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged stock and report for action
• Maintain proper storage and handling practices to minimize damage and loss
• Prepare periodic inventory reports (daily, weekly, monthly) for management review
• Ensure compliance with company inventory procedures, policies, and internal controls
• Assist in inventory audits and stock reconciliation processes
• Ensure proper labeling, categorization, and storage of items
• Monitor stock movement and report unusual variances
