About the Organization
The Ethiopian Diabetes Association (EDA) was established on January 23, 1984 as the first patient-based association in Ethiopia. Its purpose is to provide a forum for diabetes patients to discuss prevention, share information, and access treatment.
Position Overview
EDA is seeking a qualified Human Resources Manager to join our team. This is a one-year contract position with possible extension. The Human Resources Manager will report directly to the General Manager and oversee all employee-related functions, serving as a liaison between management and staff.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and integration of new employees
- Address conflicts, resolve issues, and promote a positive work environment
- Support performance evaluations, goal setting, and employee development
- Administer pay structures, benefits programs, and payroll oversight
- Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies; ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations
- Organize workshops, training sessions, and career development programs
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning, retention, and organizational strategy
- Drive initiatives to boost morale, engagement, and promote organizational values including diversity, equity, and inclusion
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in human resources management
- Knowledge of labor laws and HR compliance
