About the Position

We are seeking an Implementation Research Advisor to lead high-level research across our integrated portfolio, ensuring that JSI's innovations are rigorously documented and translated into national policy.

The Data Use Partnership Workstream 1: Enhancing National and Regional HIS Capacity is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and implemented by JSI Research & Training Institute Inc. This initiative aims to support the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Regional Health Bureaus (RHBs) in coordinating with HIS stakeholders to implement Ethiopia's Health Sector HIS strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide and coordinate the standardization of digital health solutions and services, including development, quality assurance, documentation, and ongoing maintenance of systems such as DHIS-2
• Provide technical guidance, coordination, and support for the prioritization, requirements preparation, technology selection, design, implementation, and quality assurance of priority digital health systems of national relevance
• Engage in short and long-term planning sessions with MOH for health information systems development, implementation, interoperability, and governance initiatives
• Provide expert advice and high-level specialist training to colleagues and system users
• Develop training packages for effective use of digital health systems and services
• Strengthen in-country capacity through tailored technical assistance platforms that build both technical and project management competencies
• Create a clear roadmap toward effective implementation and sustainability of digital health projects to improve health outcomes
• Represent MOH and the Data Use Partnership in various Technical Working Groups and related forums
