About the Organization
The Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) is a biomedical research institute founded in 1970 through the initiative of the Norwegian and Swedish Save the Children organizations and the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia. Named after Norwegian physician Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, who first described the leprosy bacillus (Mycobacterium leprae), AHRI develops tools for prevention, control, and treatment of diseases of public health importance through applied and basic biomedical research and training.
Position Overview
AHRI is seeking a qualified and motivated Public Health professional to support the Strengthening Health Innovation Ecosystem in Ethiopia (SHINE) project. You will work closely with Principal Investigators and the research team to ensure all processes meet project and institutional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, organize, and analyze quantitative and qualitative indicators for indicator tracking
- Ensure clean datasets, comprehensive documentation, and version control
- Support baseline, midline, and endline studies with clear methodologies
- Draft concise, evidence-based reports with visuals and summaries
- Feed findings back into program design and policy for learning integration
- Work closely with Principal Investigators and co-investigators to support the team and AHRI systems
- Prepare, organize, and finalize all documents required for partners and stakeholders
- Document experiences shared and lessons learned
- Design outward activities for business development, including intellectual property right applications and registration with analytical and clinical validation summaries, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and risk assessments
- Conduct diagnostic market overview analysis
- Coordinate with the research team on ongoing initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Public Health professional background
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative research data management
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Familiarity with research evaluation methodologies
