Position Overview

The Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) is seeking Field Supervisors for a baseline assessment research project on strengthening the nutrition sensitivity of the social protection project in Ethiopia (SNASSP). This is a contract position with a duration of 30 days, with the possibility of extension.

About the Project

The Nutrition, Environmental Health and Non-communicable Disease Research Directorate of EPHI, in collaboration with the World Food Program, is conducting research on baseline assessment to strengthen the nutrition sensitivity of social protection initiatives in Ethiopia.

The project focuses on two key programs:

• School Feeding Programs (SFP): Provide meals to children during school hours, supporting healthy growth and cognitive development while yielding returns in education, gender equality, health and nutrition, social protection, and local economies and agriculture.
• Productive Safety Net Program (PSNP): Combats food insecurity and malnutrition by building community assets and resilience, enabling households to sustainably improve their food security and nutritional status over time.

Project Objectives

Nutrition-sensitive, gender-transformative packages will be piloted within the School Feeding Program and PSNP platforms in Afar and Oromia regions. EPHI will collect baseline data in the intervention areas to inform the implementation of these programs.
