Job Summary

The Import Officer is responsible for managing and coordinating the company's import operations. The role ensures timely customs clearance, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination with international suppliers, freight forwarders, banks, clearing agents, and relevant government authorities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and process import documentation including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/Airway Bill, Certificate of Origin, and Insurance documents
• Coordinate with Ethiopian Customs and clearing agents for timely clearance of goods
• Handle import payment documentation (LC, CAD, TT) and follow up with banks
• Communicate with suppliers regarding shipment schedules and documentation requirements
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian import regulations and relevant authorities
• Maintain accurate import records and prepare periodic reports
• Follow up on shipment status and resolve delays or discrepancies
