Education in Emergency Assistant

About the Role

The Education in Emergency Assistant provides comprehensive technical and operational support for the assessment and implementation of education activities under the UNICEF-funded project. This position is responsible for supporting the full project cycle, beginning with needs assessments, response analysis, and planning while ensuring quality service delivery and adherence to organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Support needs assessments, response analysis, and project planning activities
• Strengthen inclusive and safe learning environments across the three target woredas
• Collaborate closely with teachers, school leaders, woreda education offices, and community structures
• Contribute to improved enrollment, particularly for girls and vulnerable children
• Promote effective teaching and learning practices aligned with project objectives
• Ensure quality service delivery and adherence to organizational standards

Safeguarding and Program Integrity

• Understand and implement responsibilities under Safeguarding and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) policies and Plan International's Code of Conduct
• Ensure concerns are reported and managed according to appropriate procedures
• Properly induct all staff in the unit/function/department on safeguarding and GEI policies and their roles in upholding them
• Embed Plan International's global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion in day-to-day work
• Contribute to Plan Ethiopia's global efforts in safeguarding and GEI, including relevant reporting and data submission
