By merging precise technical support, startup funds, and results-driven Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) rewards, IDH equips local businesses and farmers to implement green practices, validate environmental results, and establish trustworthy financial and impact profiles. This unlocks business capital and sustains private interest in environmental services, advancing policies and climate commitments.

The Role

As MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) Advisor at IDH, you will deliver practical expertise to build, roll out, and refine the project's MEL framework. This ensures robust evidence, CAFI reporting compliance, and insights for adaptive management across the Investment & PES Hub portfolio.

Position based in IDH offices in Yaoundé.

Main Responsibilities

• Craft and launch project MEL plan (framework, indicators, baselines/targets, data strategy) to match CAFI standards
• Build and maintain MEL tools and systems (databases, dashboards, mobile forms) integrated with geospatial and partner platforms
• Set data quality assurance (DQA) protocols: verifications, spot-checks, audits, with full evidence logs
• Track PES and environmental metrics (land changes, forest cover, practice adoption) via GIS, GPS, and remote sensing
• Oversee MEL contributions to reports (semi-annual and annual) for accuracy, completeness, and on-time delivery to CAFI and stakeholders
