Our integrated approach addresses education, WASH, health, food security, livelihoods, and environment to create thriving futures for vulnerable populations.

Project Overview

Project: KOICA Phase 2 – Advancing children's education access through enhanced education, WASH, and child protection services in Cameroon's East Region

Funder: Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), delivered in partnership with UNICEF and key stakeholders

Focus: The project fortifies local governance and systems to improve access to essential services among vulnerable populations in the Lom & Djerem and Kadey Divisions, with emphasis on education, child protection, WASH, and social services.

Position Details

  • Title: Protection Officer
  • Duty Station: Batouri, East Region, Cameroon
  • Coverage Area: Batouri and Ngoura Subdivisions (Kadey Division)
  • Reports To: Assistant Program Manager
  • Contract Type: Fixed-term (CDD), 1 year renewable based on performance and funding availability

Role Purpose

As a core humanitarian team member, the Protection Officer will safeguard vulnerable children's rights in the East Region per project goals. You will lead prevention and response to abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence affecting refugee and host communities, while mainstreaming protection across all sectors to create child-thriving environments.

Main Responsibilities

Child Protection Program Implementation

  • Drive child protection activities across target communities
  • Develop and implement child protection strategies aligned with project objectives
  • Coordinate prevention and response mechanisms for child abuse, neglect, and exploitation
  • Establish protection systems at community and facility levels
