Position Overview

EVIHDAF and partners seek an experienced Laboratory Systems Strengthening Specialist for an upcoming Global Health Security (GHS) project. The Laboratory Systems Strengthening Specialist oversees laboratory systems strengthening efforts for GHS programs. Reporting to the Project Director or Technical Director, this role collaborates with country offices, Ministries of Health (MoH), national public health labs, and regional partners to provide comprehensive technical support.

This position emphasizes creating efficient, independent diagnostic networks and enabling swift detection of infectious threats. The role demands deep technical knowledge, adaptability, and skill in managing complex stakeholder dynamics to strengthen diagnostic capacity and transfer technical control to host governments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical support for national and subnational laboratories to boost capacity in detecting, confirming, and reporting high-threat pathogens
• Implement and coordinate program activities across multiple laboratory sites
• Provide technical assistance to strengthen laboratory systems and operations
• Collaborate with government agencies and regional partners on capacity building initiatives
• Support the development of efficient diagnostic networks
