Litho Machine Operator

Core Purpose

To produce high-quality litho and large format print work according to work tickets within allocated timeframes. This role involves operating KBA large format printing machines and ensuring equipment is maintained in optimal working condition.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

• Maintain machines according to supplier and company guidelines
• Read, understand, and follow work tickets and 10-point checklists
• Select correct materials as per work ticket specifications
• Follow work schedules and plan subsequent print jobs
• Ensure production meets company ISO standards for completeness and make-ready
• Achieve correct color output with supervisor or senior minder sign-off
• Produce correct sheet quantities as specified on work tickets
• Maintain production efficiency according to company standards
• Record all production information in Printvis system for costing purposes
• Label stacks and utilize materials according to work ticket requirements
• Manage daily time allocation via Printvis system
• Communicate job status to Shift Supervisor and maintain optimum production levels

Machine Maintenance

• Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections
• Adhere to weekly and monthly scheduled maintenance plans
• Report maintenance problems through proper channels
• Log equipment performance to agreed standards
• Report machine breakdowns and downtime

Quality Assurance

• Implement and monitor quality measures
• Track both quality and quantity metrics

Compliance

• Follow all workplace rules and regulations
• Maintain compliance with operational procedures

Key Performance Indicators

• Minimal errors in print output
• Timely reporting and resolution of all machine faults
• Maintenance of cleanliness and equipment standards
