Production Manager

About the Role

Quality Crate Manufacturers is seeking an experienced and driven Production Manager to join our team. This is a full-time position based in Johannesburg, South Africa, reporting directly to the COO and CEO.

You will oversee daily production operations for a 24/7 manufacturing facility, ensuring efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and managing a team of approximately 10 staff per shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily production activities and recording
• Lead and supervise a team of approximately 10 staff per shift
• Ensure production targets and deadlines are met while maintaining strict quality standards
• Identify operational issues and implement effective preventative maintenance controls
• Drive continuous improvement in processes and efficiencies
• Maintain health and safety standards on the production floor
• Coordinate maintenance activities and minimise downtime
• Monitor material usage, reduce waste, and maintain detailed documentation

Required Experience and Skills

• Previous production or supervisory management experience
• Experience in a plastic manufacturing environment (advantageous)
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly and practically
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Hands-on approach with high attention to detail
