Senior Manager; Agri Lending

About the Role

NMB Bank Plc is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Manager; Agri Lending to lead its Agri Retail Credit Assessment function. The position is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the management, assessment, administration, monitoring, and reporting of credit risk across the agricultural lending portfolio while ensuring the maintenance of high credit quality standards.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the bank's agricultural financing strategy by overseeing credit assessment processes, enhancing risk management frameworks, and guiding a high-performing team. This role requires strong expertise in agricultural finance, credit risk management, and banking operations, combined with the ability to provide strategic insights that support sustainable portfolio growth and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Agri Retail Credit Assessment team to ensure effective credit evaluation and risk management
• Assess business, financial, and operational risks associated with credit applications from the agricultural value chain
• Oversee credit assessment and approval processes for retail agribusiness borrowers
• Maintain high standards of credit quality through rigorous assessment, portfolio sampling, and application of industry best practices
• Monitor agricultural sector trends and borrower risk profiles and provide recommendations to senior management
• Advise the Head; Retail Credit on emerging risks, portfolio performance, and sector developments
• Participate in Credit Committees, Watchlist Committees, and Board Credit Committee meetings
