Position Overview

Job Title: Tradesperson 1 – Underground Plant Fitter Mechanics

Department: Engineering – Underground Infrastructure

Location: Geita Gold Mine, Tanzania

Employment Status: Full Time

Role Objective

Execute underground mining infrastructure maintenance safely and responsibly, including preventive, planned, breakdown, and installation work within the Underground Engineering department.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to HSE regulations, assess and control risks, and report and act on unsafe conditions
• Perform mechanical inspections, repairs, and maintenance on underground equipment per work instructions and OEM requirements
• Diagnose faults and complete planned and unplanned breakdown repairs to minimize downtime
• Comply with legislation, codes, and AngloGold Ashanti/Geita Gold Mining standards and participate in audits as required
• Communicate promptly with supervisors, report tooling issues, and complete Take 5 assessments
