Assistant Meteorological Officer II

About the Position

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the supervision of data collection for analyzing meteorological data and charts
• Code, decode, and transmit meteorological and weather messages
• Provide plot observations on charts
• Perform upper air operations, including Radiosondes and Pilot balloon ascents
• Process autographic data and compute simple statistics
• Receive, edit, and transmit meteorological messages, data, and products
• Check the accuracy of gathered data for provision of meteorological services in various fields such as Agrometeorology, Hydrometeorology, Marine, Environment, and Seismology
• Collect data for meteorological flight plans and material documentation for aviation
• Communicate and transmit weather information to different users
• Receive and transmit aeronautical information from/to aircraft and ground stations
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

• Diploma in Meteorology from a recognized institution
