Fiber technician / engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Fiber Technician with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in fiber optic installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities. This position offers a great opportunity for career growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out fiber splicing for SM/MM fibers using fusion splicing machines
• Conduct OTDR testing, power meter testing, and troubleshooting of fiber links
• Handle preventive and corrective maintenance of fiber networks
• Identify and rectify fiber faults, attenuation issues, and link failures
• Install and maintain fiber joint closures, patch panels, ODFs, and related accessories
• Ensure proper cable labeling, documentation, and route records
• Follow safety procedures while working at poles and underground routes
• Prepare daily work reports, test reports, and maintenance logs
• Ensure quality standards and SLA compliance during field operations

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or BTech Technical Certification in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical, or related field
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in fiber optic installation, testing, and maintenance
• Strong knowledge of FTTH/OSP fiber networks, fiber splicing, OTDR testing, and preventive/corrective maintenance activities
• Good knowledge of fiber optic technologies and telecom infrastructure
