Power engineer

About the Role

The Power Engineer is responsible for supervising and supporting the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of telecom power and electromechanical systems. This position ensures all activities are executed in accordance with industry standards, approved engineering designs, and project requirements. The role ensures reliable and safe operation of site power infrastructure including rectifiers, batteries, generators, UPS systems, and related electromechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and put-into-service of new electromechanical equipment
• Direct and check quality control and quality assurance for maintenance activities to ensure compliance with specifications and approved engineering standards
• Prepare technical reports and documentation as necessary
• Perform root cause analyses on failed equipment and make recommendations to prevent similar failures
• Prepare technical presentations and engineering letters for formal communication with internal and external entities
• Design and implement training courses for electromechanical teams
• Provide technical support during network rollout activities and coordinate with subcontractors
• Serve as technical point of contact and interface with customers for electromechanical network matters
• Act as technical and coordination lead for installation and operation activities
• Ensure Health and Safety regulations and processes are respected and applied in all installation and maintenance activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related field
• 3–6 years of relevant experience
