Automotive Technician

About the Role

A leading automotive body repair company is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join their team in Port Elizabeth. You will play a crucial role in our commitment to excellence by supporting the panel and body department. To perform this job successfully, you must be able to satisfactorily complete each essential duty with precision and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Repair vehicles according to repair orders and manufacturer standards
• Remove damaged parts and salvage reusable components
• Assemble vehicles by fitting new and/or salvaged parts
• Perform quality and safety checks to ensure vehicles meet required standards
• Report any deviations to the department Head of Department
• Maintain tools and keep equipment clean and organized
• Conduct daily housekeeping in work area
• Maintain and wear all required health and safety personal protective equipment
• Assist with training apprentices at various levels
• Complete other assigned tasks as needed

Requirements

• Motor Mechanic Trade Certificate or equivalent mechanical qualification
• 5 years of qualified trade experience
• Proven experience in wheel alignment and diagnostics
• Valid driver's license
• Own transport
• Ability to apply common sense in conducting daily tasks
• Maintain a professional appearance
