Vish Services (Pty) Ltd is seeking an ECSA Professionally Registered Mechanical Engineer to oversee various mechanical engineering projects in Johannesburg. This position offers excellent career growth opportunities.

Position Overview

This is a full-time, office-based mechanical engineering role located in Sandton, Johannesburg. You will be the first point of contact for mechanical works on projects, responsible for utilizing analytical skills, communication, mechanical engineering knowledge, computer-aided design (CAD), and project management.

Contract Details: 2-year renewable contract with the option to transition to a permanent position after 2 years.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee various mechanical engineering projects from inception through to close-out
• Serve as the primary point of contact for mechanical works on assigned projects
• Assist with design based on client requirements and specifications
• Demonstrate fundamental understanding of various HVAC design software packages (e.g., HAP, Loadest, I.E.S) and manual air psychrometric analysis and design
• Utilize BIM and modeling software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, etc.)
• Assist senior engineers in the formulation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ's)
• Support equipment specifications, understanding, and approvals
• Conduct quality control and assurance (QA/QC) activities
• Perform site supervision and construction monitoring
• Troubleshoot existing installations
• Assist with cost control related to mechanical HVAC systems
• Define project scope and monitor scope throughout project lifecycle
• Construct and compile tender documentation and manage that process

Requirements and Qualifications

• BEng (Mechanical Engineering) or BTech (Mechanical Engineering)
• ECSA Professional Registration (mandatory)
• Tertiary education in air/fluid/heat transfer/thermodynamics or related subjects (advantageous)

Compensation

Remuneration: R35,000 Net
