Driver (Steel Industry)

About the Role

Vulcan Steel Manufacturing (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced Driver to join our team in Milnerton. You will be responsible for safe and efficient delivery of goods, vehicle maintenance, and customer service while adhering to all traffic regulations and company protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily vehicle checks including oil levels and mechanical condition
• Complete vehicle checklists daily and report any defects to the Manager
• Verify that correct parts are loaded onto the vehicle before departure
• Ensure all parcels and packages are properly secured during transport
• Obtain customer signatures on delivery notes and invoices upon receipt of goods
• Collect customer name and date on Trip Sheets
• Report all customer complaints to the Manager
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and tidiness at all times
• Order petrol requisitions from Reception and return petrol slips for record keeping
• Strictly adhere to all traffic rules and regulations
• Use company vehicle for work purposes only
• Work overtime as required

Requirements

• Grade 12 qualification
• Code 10 Drivers Licence
• Professional Driving Permit (PDP) for people and goods
• 3 to 5 years' driving experience with proven track record
• Comprehensive knowledge of Cape Town and surrounding areas
• Ability to work overtime
• Own reliable transport
