The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is a Japanese governmental agency that implements Japan's Official Development Assistance (ODA) and promotes international cooperation. JICA has been active in Ghana for more than 60 years, implementing programs across Infrastructure, Agriculture, Industry, Health, Education, and Governance sectors.

Position Overview

JICA Ghana Office is seeking a qualified and experienced Program Specialist to support agricultural sector development and related areas including rural development, microfinance, climate change, livestock, aquaculture and fisheries, and forest conservation.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate projects in agriculture and related sectors through discussions with office members and government officials
• Implement or assist in the implementation of JICA's projects with office members, headquarters staff, experts, and government officials
• Assist activities of missions and experts through logistical arrangements including procurement, creating official documents, minutes, and correspondence
• Maintain frequent communication with office members, Japanese experts, and Ghanaian government counterparts
• Carry out and assist in the evaluation of JICA's projects and activities in accordance with JICA procedures
• Collect, analyze, and report on information and policies related to agriculture and associated sectors by attending relevant meetings and preparing summaries, minutes, and reports
• Support organizational activities including vehicle arrangements, scheduling appointments, coordinating meeting rooms, and arranging event venues
• Contribute to the agriculture section of the JICA Country Analysis Paper (JCAP)
