Position Overview
The International Gorilla Conservation Programme (IGCP), in collaboration with the Greater Virunga Transboundary Collaboration (GVTC), World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and Gorilla Doctors, seeks a consultant to conduct a comprehensive mapping of key stakeholders in Rwanda. This mapping will support resource mobilisation for a One Health-based Pandemic Preparedness, Prevention and Response (PPR) system across the Greater Virunga Landscape.
Background
The Greater Virunga Landscape faces complex interactions between wildlife, people, livestock, and ecosystems. GVTC is committed to mobilising resources for a One Health-based PPR system capable of addressing emerging and re-emerging threats to:
- Human health and communities
- Mountain gorillas and other wildlife
- Ecosystem integrity
- Surrounding communities
To effectively mobilise resources and align efforts across sectors, IGCP intends to conduct a comprehensive mapping of relevant actors whose priorities align with One Health approaches and conservation outcomes.
Stakeholders to be Mapped
- National, provincial, and district government entities
- Private sector organisations
- Bilateral and multilateral development partners
- Donors and philanthropies
- Non-governmental organisations (NGOs)
- Academic institutions
- Other relevant actors in Rwanda
Overall Objective
To identify, map, and analyse relevant actors across government, private sector, donors, and development partners to support resource mobilisation and strategic engagement for the One Health-based PPR system in the Greater Virunga Landscape.
Specific Objectives
- Identify and categorise key actors relevant to mobilising resources for One Health
Expected Deliverables
This consultancy will generate a strategic landscape analysis that positions IGCP and partners to leverage partnerships and attract sustainable funding for the One Health-based PPR system.
