Project Background

The Egg Value Chain project is funded by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and aligned with its seven-year flagship program, Combating Malnutrition in Rwanda through Sustainable Food Systems (CMRFS) (2025–2031). The project is implemented in partnership with DUHAMIC-ADRI in three districts: Karongi, Nyamasheke, and Rusizi.

Project Scope

DUHAMIC-ADRI will work with 18,000 vulnerable households across the three districts to enhance access to improved poultry inputs and strengthen capacity for sustainable egg production. The project will engage 720 lead farmers trained to cascade training on good farming practices to project participants.

Implementation will take place across 15 sectors:

• Karongi District (5 sectors): Rugabano, Ruganda, Gashari, Rwankuba, Bwishyura
• Nyamasheke District (5 sectors): Rangiro, Bushekeri, Karengera, Kirimbi, Kagano
• Rusizi District (5 sectors)
