Regional Information Technology (IT) Officer

About the Role

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Regional IT Officer is responsible for managing and maintaining critical aspects of the organization's IT infrastructure. This role encompasses various technical domains, ensuring the smooth operation of hardware, network, and security systems.

The Regional IT Officer will provide fast and useful technical assistance on computer systems and networks. You will answer queries on basic technical issues and offer advice to resolve them. You will support the frontline team on AIM activities and BInsight issues by providing on-the-ground technical assistance and support to users across various locations at the Nyanza and Huye Regional Offices.

An excellent Regional IT Officer must have strong technical knowledge and the ability to communicate effectively to understand problems and explain solutions clearly. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of BInsight and other SBI systems. You will be based at the Regional Office in Nyanza District, supporting both Nyanza and Huye Regional Offices.

Key Responsibilities

Laptop Management

• Oversee the acquisition, configuration, and deployment of laptops and tablets for employees
• Provide recommendations for the procurement of IT-related equipment and software required by the organization
• Regularly maintain laptops, tablets, and printers
• Diagnose hardware and software issues and provide technical support to end-users
• Implement security protocols for laptops, including encryption, access controls, and antivirus software

Accounts and Mail Systems

• Create and modify user accounts
