About the Role
Our client is a prestigious 5-star luxury hotel in Nigeria. Due to expansion, they are seeking a Senior Pastry Chef de Partie to join their culinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, bake, and present high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods
- Supervise junior pastry chefs and commis staff, providing training and guidance
- Ensure consistency in recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
- Assist in developing new pastry and dessert recipes for menus, buffets, and events
- Maintain proper stock levels of ingredients and minimize wastage
- Uphold strict hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards in line with HACCP
- Collaborate with the wider culinary team to support banquets, events, and special functions
- Report maintenance needs for pastry equipment and ensure proper usage
Required Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Culinary Arts, Catering, or related field with specialization in pastry
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in pastry within a hotel or fine-dining environment
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, chocolate work, bread, and plated desserts
