Position Overview

The Tugwi Mukosi Multidisciplinary Research Institute (TMMRI) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Research Assistant in Environmental Management. This is a full-time, permanent post.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and conducting field research projects related to environmental management
• Collect, record, and analyse environmental data from various sources
• Prepare research reports, summaries, and presentations
• Support senior researchers in environmental impact assessments and monitoring activities
• Maintain laboratory and field equipment in good working order
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and institutional protocols
• Contribute to the preparation of research proposals and manuscripts for publication

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a closely related field
• At least one year of relevant work experience in environmental research or monitoring
• Demonstrated competence in field data collection and basic laboratory analysis
• Proficiency in computer applications, including statistical software and GIS tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage
