Job Overview
Our client is seeking a dependable, well-organised, and trustworthy individual to join their team as a Stores Clerk. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment and takes pride in maintaining accurate inventory and efficient store operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day stores operations, including receiving, storing, and issuing materials and supplies.
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, receipts, and dispatches using manual or electronic systems.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Inspect incoming goods for quality, quantity, and compliance with purchase orders.
- Organise and label stock systematically to facilitate quick retrieval and efficient space utilisation.
- Prepare and process requisition forms, delivery notes, and other relevant documentation.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor promptly.
- Ensure the stores area is kept clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of goods as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a stores, warehouse, or inventory control role is essential.
- Strong numerical and literacy skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including spreadsheets and inventory software.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- High level of integrity and reliability, with a strong sense of accountability.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy items when necessary.
- A relevant qualification in stores management, logistics, or a related field would be an added advantage.
